The problem with Prison Break was that T-Bad didn't care about anything, so he was impossible to work/reason with. Unlike with Prison Break, Lost made it even better when they worked it around to him actually working WITH the other survivors to try and save the island. He was so great as Ben Linus that they had to try and find a way to keep him on the show that made it make sense. I can kind of compare it to Michael Emerson on Lost to a lesser degree.
